About College

The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers’ Training College, Tangla was set up on the 14th of August, 1995 in the cherished memory of Late Ramesh Chandra Saharia, the renowned educationist and Ex-Home Minister of Assam. The main objective of the college is to provide teachers training and facilitate the development of education in the backward areas of the Bodoland Territorial Council now, in Udalguri District of Assam. Since 1995, the college has been offering a degree in B.Ed. under the aegis of Gauhati University. The college building in Tangla was formally inaugurated by Dr. Hiralal Duarah, Vice-Chancellor Gauhati University builtin a plot of land 0 .66 acre (Two bigha) in Tangla town of the family of Ramesh Chandra Saharia. The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Educational Trust is the sponsoring, governing and managing authority of the Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College, Tangla, Udalguri (BTR), Assam.

About Our Trust

Ramesh Chandra Saharia Educational Trust is registered at Guwahati vide Trust Deed No. 6952/04. The trust is a non-profit making, non–government organization, with the prime objective of promotion of academic activities. The Trust also carries out various socio-economic development projects and other activities such as

Permission, Affiliation and Recognition

The Government of Assam has accorded permission to open The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College, Tangla along with the No Objection Certificate (NOC) vide Memo No. A(1)E.435/2000/79 – a dated Dispur, 30th December 2003.

The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teacher Training College is affiliated to Gauhati University vide G.U. Order No. GU/AFF/2016/1188-92 dated 28-05-2016.

The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Eastern Regional Committee (A Statutory Body of the Government of India), Bhubaneswar vide letter no ERC/7-61.5.1/2005/932-940 dated the 24th, of October, 2005 for an intake of 100 students (Two basic Units).

The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Eastern Regional Committee (A Statutory Body of the Government of India), Bhubaneswar vide letter no ERC/NCTE/APE00327/B.Ed. (Revised Order)/2015/31761 dated the 20th May 2015 for conducting B.Ed. Programme of two years duration with an annual intake of 100 for two basic units of 50 students each from academic session 2015-16.

The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College has introduced Degree Major Course in Education (Semester System) from the Session 2016-17 with permission and affiliated under Guwahati University under the E.C. Res. No. R/EC-03/2016/32 (b) (4) dated 29.07.2016 & 08.08.2016 (Extended) R.C. Saharia Teachers’ Training College, Tangla, District Udalguri.
