The Ramesh Chandra Saharia Teachers Training College, Tangla was set up on the 14th of August, 1995 in the cherish memory Late Ramesh Chandra Saharia, a highly reputed educationist and a three time senior minister of Assam Cabinet and a symbol of sacrifice and idol of political memory by Ramesh Chandra Saharia Educational Trust. Dr HiralalDuarah, Vice Chancellor, Gauhati University inaugurated the college building on 8 February 1995.
